Artwork Submission Guidelines

Logo artwork submitted for laser engraving must meet certain requirements to ensure a clean, professional result. Laser engraving works differently from printing, so an image that looks good when printed may not produce the same quality when engraved onto a product.

Printers can reproduce grayscale artwork and use different shades to create a smooth appearance. Laser engraving uses a burning process to place the image onto the product. For this reason, high-quality black-and-white or vector artwork generally produces the best results.

Accepted Artwork Formats

Raster Images

We accept the following raster-image formats:

• TIFF
• BMP
• JPG or JPEG
• Other high-resolution raster formats approved by our team

Raster artwork must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum resolution of 300 DPI at the intended engraving size
• One-bit black-and-white, camera-ready artwork
• No grayscale, shadows, gradients, or transparency
• Clean edges with good contrast

Vector Artwork

Preferred vector formats include:

• Adobe Illustrator (AI)
• CorelDRAW (CDR)
• Encapsulated PostScript (EPS)
• Vector PDF

All text must be converted to curves, paths, or outlines before submitting the artwork. Linked images and fonts should be embedded or included with the artwork.

We accept artwork created on both PC and Mac computers.

Unacceptable Artwork

Low-resolution JPG, GIF, or other web images are generally unsuitable for professional laser engraving. Simply converting a low-resolution image into a TIFF, BMP, PDF, or another format does not improve the original image quality.

Changing a 72 or 96 DPI image to 300 DPI also does not restore missing detail. Images downloaded from websites are commonly optimized for screens and may not be suitable for engraving.

Whenever possible, please contact your company’s marketing or graphic-design department and request the original high-resolution or vector version of your logo instead of downloading it from the company website.

Artwork Redesign Service

If a high-resolution logo is unavailable, we may be able to redraw or recreate the artwork using the best available reference image. Artwork preparation and redesign services are billed at $55 per hour in 15-minute increments.

We will review the supplied artwork and inform you if additional artwork preparation is recommended before engraving begins.

Please Submit the Original Artwork File

Do not embed artwork inside Microsoft Word documents, spreadsheets, presentation files, screenshots, or email signatures. Please provide the original artwork file whenever possible.

Embedding a logo inside another document can reduce its quality and may prevent us from accessing the original image or vector information.

Stock Artwork and Logo Library

Raymond’s Trophy maintains a database of more than 80,000 standardized company logos and artwork files. In many cases, we may already have your company’s logo available in a laser-engraving-ready format.
